Vietnam-Taiwan Textile Exhibition to Open Next Week in HCM City | Business
The event, co-hosted by the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad) under direct meeting and online meeting platforms, aims to strengthen cooperation between Vietnamese and Taiwanese companies in the textile and clothing sector. .
There will be 16 Taiwanese textile manufacturers who will participate in the event via Zoom, exchange experiences and present products to Vietnamese companies with interpretation support.
Taiwanese companies have constantly researched and improved techniques to produce kinds of fabrics using technical dyeing treatments which can save energy, water and reduce influence on the environment. They have also applied innovative technologies in production to fabrics produced with many outstanding features such as being antibacterial and using environmentally friendly materials from oyster shells and recycled plastic.
In 2020, Taiwan’s largest textiles and clothing export market was Vietnam, with export sales reaching US $ 1.9 billion and accounting for 25.3% of sales. total business of the country’s textile and clothing exports. The top five export markets, including Vietnam, mainland China, the United States, Indonesia and Hong Kong, account for 60.3% of Taiwan’s total clothing exports.
Mainland China and Vietnam, which accounted for 43% and 14% of total textile imports and valued at $ 1.46 billion and $ 467 million respectively, were Taiwan’s largest and second-largest sources of textiles in 2020. The main items imported from mainland China and Vietnam were clothing and accessories.
The Vietnam-Taiwan Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition will be held in the Saigonexpo Showroom at No.92-96 Nguyen Hue Street, District 1 of HCM City with the participation of nearly 60 companies Vietnamese and 16 Taiwanese manufacturers.
