Odisha government urges textile industry to invest in the state
The government of Odisha has assured the textile industry the best support to invest in the state.
Speaking at the Odisha Roadshow in Kolkata, Rita Sahu, Minister of State for Looms, Textiles and Handicrafts, Odisha said, “I urge investors in the technical textile sector to come in Odisha and explore our latest offers. We have taken proactive steps to expand the state’s industrial ecosystem. »
She added “Some of these measures include the identification of priority and targeted sectors, the development of sectoral policies, the development of sectoral industrial parks and infrastructure, etc.
The event was attended by around 150 delegates, and representatives from 15 textile and apparel companies had a one-on-one meeting with senior government officials in Odisha.
The roadshow which focused on textiles is a preparation for the third Make in Odisha Conclave to be held in November-December 2022.
The minister said textiles is one such priority sector where Odisha hopes to achieve exponential growth in the coming years.
She said: “Odisha is surely growing as a key investment destination in the chemical and petrochemical sector, and I urge investors in the technical textile sector to come to Odisha and explore our latest offerings in this geography.
